Covered EEOICPA Facilities
Our goal is to set up a webpage for the different EEOICPA facilities that makes it easier to find information on specific facilities that are covered by EEOICPA. To be successful with a Part E claim the claimant has to prove to DOL where the worker worked, the materials he used, and that the materials caused his illness. There is a lot of information on the internet that can help with this but it is scattered and not easy to locate.
EECAP wants to make this easier on claimants. We are setting up webpages for all the Ohio EEOICPA facilities and will try to make these easy for claimants to use. But this does not have to be restricted to just Ohio facilities. If you have a facility you would like to appear on the website, please contact us.
If you find this helpful, please consider making a donation to support our efforts with this project. Thank you.
Interactive Maps
EECAP now has interactive maps that show information on claim payment rates, different facilities, and other interesting facts about EEOICPA. This is an ongoing project so check back often to see what is new!
Facility Documents
EECAP has a digital library of thousands of documents from nuclear weapons sites. The work done at these sites was secret and done on a need to know basis. Because it can be very hard to locate information on old nuclear weapons sites we have started a project to make these documents available on our website. We hope the library will grow over time and be useful to claimants, advocates, and other interested people. Keep checking back and watch our on-line library grow!
Why Facility Specific Documents are Useful
Documents that give specific information on a nuclear weapons site are useful for proving employment, what chemicals were available on a site, what jobs were done on a site, and other information that Department of Labor may not have. Because the EEOICPA law says that the "burden of proof" is on the claimant, this means that it is up to the claimant to prove employment, exposures, illnesses, and any thing else DOL needs to know. Often information needed for a claim is contained within the document released by the facility where the worker worked.
